Shift Hours: 8:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Standard Hours Per Week: 40
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, supports the Performance Improvement, Quality Assessment and Outcomes Measurement processes for the hospital and Medical Staff.  Performs data collection/analysis, chart review and report preparation for hospital activities.  Supports hospital and medical staff committees related to Quality Assessment/Improvement.

 
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
Demonstrates personal commitment to the organization's core values through active involvement in the performance improvement process.      Demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules, works to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and departmental safety programs.
Reviews and analyzes data to prepare clear and concise reports to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
Extracts, analyzes, validates and reports data.
Promotes attainment of utilization and cost containment goals. Utilizes and promotes customer service skills while acting as a liaison between physicians, patients, other members of the health care team, and external agencies.
Develops and implements a personal development program to assure continued professional growth and maintains current knowledge of ambulatory care nursing.
 Conditions requises
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
Required Certifications, Registration or Licensure:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practice Nurse in Michigan OR
Current Accreditation/Registration status from American Health Information Management Association as an Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA).
 
Minimum Knowledge and Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with Bachelor's degree preferred or graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing OR
Graduate of an approved accredited Health Information Management program.
 
Minimum Work Experience:
One year experience in Quality Assessment/Improvement or Case/Utilization Management
