The SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) is recruiting for our General Counsel position located in beautiful Southeast Alaska. The position performs contract review, provides legal advice on routine business transactions, human resources problems, corporate policies/procedures and reports to the Vice President of Administration/Chief Administrative Officer.
Baseline qualifications include: B.A. and Juris Doctorate degrees, Four (4) years of work experience in a legal environment required and Admitted to practice law in the State of Alaska and a member of the Alaska Bar Association. Familiarity with the following areas of law is required: Tribal law, labor law, Health Information Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance, health care reform, antitrust, computer law, licensing and securities and familiarity/understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation and related Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) guidelines.
Preference given to Alaskan Natives/American Indians who meet the baseline requirements.
