We currently have an opening for Director for our Clinical Laboratory.

Responsibilities:

* Provides effective leadership to the department. Able to strategically identify, internalize, communicate and execute the critical success factors necessary for the department to support organizational goals.

* Serves as an effective communicator of the overall organization's Mission, Vision and Goals and the department's role in achieving those. Expresses ideas clearly and effectively (gaining agreement and/or understanding), by adjusting language, terminology and style to the characteristics and needs of the audience as well as the venue for the communication.

* Creates and communicates the 'big picture' understanding of the hospital and works to ensure the department supports the organization's desired competitive position.

* Manages his/her responsibilities in a way that supports the achievement of departmental goals. Works effectively with others in the management team to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems at the departmental level. Skillfully administers, directs and allocates all organizational resources.

* Demonstrates personal effectiveness in leading the unit/team towards it goals. Consistently models appropriate values; maintains and promotes social, ethical and organizational norms.

* Manages human resources effectively and efficiently. Recruits, hires, orients, and provides annual evaluations and competency re-validations to meet, exceed and sustain high workforce performance across all sections of the Laboratory.

* Teaches, trains, counsels, advises and mentors staff as needed to develop their professional performance. Intervenes when needed to provide effective coaching, appropriate corrective feedback and progressive disciplinary actions and/or to terminate employment when performance is below expectations.

 Conditions requises

* Master’s Degree Required.

* Bachelor's degree in Biological, Physical, Chemical or Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution.

* 7-10 years of laboratory management experience.

* Demonstrated abilities to attain organizational/departmental goals.

* American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA) Certified or eligible.
